Kinder Ice Cream Sticks Review

Kinder ice cream stick lolliesI purchased these new Kinder Ice Cream sticks purely on impulse. They were definitely not on my shopping list, mainly because they are new and I’ve never seen them before.

Without investigating the nutrition, I had a quick check of the calorie content as shown on the front of the box – only 62 calories each.

Since they were on offer I popped them into the trolley as a dessert choice for the family who like something sweet after dinner (and who doesn’t like Kinder eggs)!

Kinder Ice cream sticks come in a box of ten individually wrapped lollies – each lolly is 27g. They’re basically a soft white ice cream on a wooden stick with the top part covered by a thin crispy layer of Kinder chocolate.

The ice cream is soft and icy with a sweet, creamy milky taste while the chocolate provides a crunchy contrast with the familiar Kinder taste. I found them very tasty but I do have an exceptionally sweet tooth. The rest of the family loved them too.

Here’s what they say on the box:

‘Kinder joins the ice cream world together with Wall’s/HB to launch a new range of ice cream responsibility made for kids.

Kinder ice cream is made with care and attention, by creating small portions and using milk as our main ingredient. It can be enjoyed as part of a balanced diet and active lifestyle.'

Will I buy them again?

To be honest, even though we all liked them, they won’t be a regular purchase, mainly because the ingredients leave a lot to be desired.

Although they are a low calorie snack, this is because they are a small portion, aimed at kids. If you were watching your weight a wanted an ice cream treat, then they’re a better option than something like a Magnum which has around 4 times the calories.
