Sweet Chilli Chicken Noodles Tesco Light Choices

I purchased this ready meal as part of a money saving deal. And, although I’m not a great noodle fan, my kids adore them. I probably serve up ready meals once or twice a week but try to make sure they’re as healthy as possible.

Tesco Light Choices ready meals have lower calories, fat or sugar than standard versions and are either less than 3% fat or 30% less fat than a comparable product. The Sweet Chilli Chicken Noodles ready meal says it’s an improved recipe with 80% less fat than a typical Chinese ready meal and it has 355 calories.

It’s described as:

Tender pieces of chicken breast in a sweet chilli sauce with wheat noodles.’

Ideally this meal is for one person but if you add some vegetables to make it a more balanced meal, it can stretch to two servings.

The sauce is quite thin but spicy thanks to the bits of chilli. It is however, given a ‘mild’ classification. The noodles are thick and are quite similar to spaghetti while the chicken pieces are soft and chewy.

This is a frozen ready meal so you can find it in the freezer section of Tesco stores. You can cook it in the microwave or in the oven from frozen, no defrosting necessary.
