M&S have a fantastic range of chilled dips, nibbles and snacks from an assortment of cuisines including these Mediterranean Vine Leaves.
I can’t say vine leaves are something I’ve ever been tempted to try out, especially because they always seem to be swimming in oil. However, it was a real surprise to find out just how low in calories vine leaves can be.
Marks & Spencer Vine leaves are described as:
‘From a classic Mediterranean recipe… delicate vine leaves stuffed with moist rice, tomatoes, mushroom and herbs.’
The 225g pack contains six vine leaves, and despite the fact that the outside of the leaves are oily, each vine leaf has just 45 calories.
Two M&S Vine Leaves |
The vine leaves themselves are easy enough to bite through and aren't particularly strong tasting. The overriding flavour is the mint, despite it being quite a long way down the ingredients list.
These vegetarian vine leaves make a healthy and low calorie snack, with fat and salt levels which are only slightly above the 'low' category.
Available in Marks & Spencer foodhalls.
