Quorn 6 Mini Savoury Eggs

Quorn mini savoury eggs are a meat-free alternative to mini Scotch eggs. Instead of sausage meat, they’re made with mycoprotein, a nutritious member of the fungi family.

As with all Quorn products, they’re generally made to mimic the taste and texture of their meat counterparts. As they're not made from meat, they are suitable for vegetarians who also eat eggs.

Each pack contains 6 mini savoury eggs which have 50 calories each. This is considerably less calories than a regular Scotch egg which can have more than 270 calories. In comparison with other mini savoury eggs, the calories are broadly similar but the Quorn variety are generally lower in fat.

The traditional Scotch egg consists of a hard boiled egg (shelled) which is then wrapped in a layer of spiced sausage meat, coated in breadcrumbs and deep fried. They’re usually served cold.

These days there are numerous variations on the Scotch egg, including mini eggs, savoury eggs and picnic eggs As these are too small to fit a regular sized hen’s egg inside, they are most often filled with an egg mayonnaise mixture.

You can find Quorn mini savoury eggs in the chiller cabinets of larger supermarkets.
