Sainsbury Crunchy Muesli Breakfast Biscuits

The breakfast biscuit market is booming and more manufacturers are getting in on the act. Here’s a new offering from Sainsbury’s called Crunchy Muesli Breakfast Biscuits.

These biscuits have a delightfully rustic look about them with their decorative lattice top, golden colour and sprinkling of oats.

They’re packed with raisins and currants but aren’t overly sweet. They taste a bit like a digestive biscuit with most of the sweetness coming from the fruit. Cereals include oats, wheat and cornflakes.

Although they are called ‘breakfast’ biscuits, there isn’t any specific information on the pack as to whether they should be eaten instead of breakfast, or with anything else to make a more balanced meal, nor is there any information on their vitamin or mineral content.

Since they’re packed in twos, it would seem that two is the recommended portion size. And with each biscuit worth 79 calories, they’re probably best not left around to snack on all day if you’re concerned about gaining weight.

Each 225g box contains 6 packs of 2 individually wrapped biscuits and you can find them in Sainsbury's stores.
