So if you’re looking for snacks that fit the above criteria, here is a new selection of chocolate bars and biscuits by Swiss bakers Rhythm 108. While not particularly low in calories, they are all gluten free, dairy free and suitable for vegans. They also boast having 47% less sugar than comparable bars and cap each bar at 8g of sugar without compromising taste or quality.
Their range includes Sweet N Salty, Hazelnut Praline, and Super Coconut.
I was sent a selection of Rhythm 108 snacks for review purposes. This included Tea Biscuits and Chocolate bars.

Hazelnut Praline, Sweet ‘n’ Salty and Super Coconut.
They’re all high in fibre and are at least 45% less sugar than regular chocolate bars. I received a Hazelnut Praline and a Sweet ‘n’ Salty to try out. My youngest helped me out with sampling these!

Dark Chocolate Hazelnut Praline bar |
The Hazelnut bar I received was a bit off colour on the outside with a white coating which I believe occurs due to moisture. It didn't affect the taste though.

I was also sent a selection of tea biscuits. These included:
Lemon Ginger Chia, Chocolate Hazelnut, Coconut Cookie and Almond Biscotti.
The Lemon, Coconut and Almond were in sharing bags (135g) and the chocolate hazelnut were in a 2 pack serving.
The biscuits are made using oat flour rather than regular wheat, so if you have a problem tolerating oats, these won’t be for you.

The 24g single serve packs contain 2 biscuits. The Chocolate Hazelnut biscuits shown below were popular with everyone in my family. The have a similar texture to the sharing bag biscuits but these have more of a chocolate taste.
While these snacks may be an option for those with intolerances or who are vegan, they’re not a ‘healthy’ snack. They’re still high in fat, calories, saturated fat and sugar, although less sugar than regular chocolate bars.
They are a source of protein and fibre and as well as having decent organic ingredients, they taste delicious.

God above imIalreaI'm sick to death of this stupid bloody faddy diet. The worst part is that they're using it as some kind of legitimate weight loss fix, whilst also being the same lot preaching diet advice, namely the "don't follow far diets" line.
ReplyDeleteOr maybe it's that they call sometimes not consuming animal products "being/going vegan".
Like the ones calling an omnivorous diet "flexitarian", so they can be differentiated from the rest of the human bastard species.
