Alpro No Added Sugar Soy Mango Yogurt Review

Alpro More Fruit No Added Sugar Mango YogurtAs much as I love dairy yogurt, I like to take a break from dairy sometimes and try out some of the alternative dairy free yogurts. Alpro have a great selection of soy yogurts and I was happy to discover another 2 new varieties last week.

These are called ‘More Fruit No Added Sugars'. They're available in two flavours: Mango and Cherry. I picked up a pot of the Mango flavour to review.

Both varieties are 400g in size and contain no sweeteners, with just the sugars from the fruit for sweetness.

The Mango flavour has 61 calories per 100g and the Cherry has 62 calories per 100g. This means the entire 400g pot of Mango yogurt contains 244 calories!

I’ve purchased a fair few soy yogurts over the years, and, to be honest, whatever flavour they are, there’s no disguising that soy flavour.

But this Mango soy yogurt completely changed my opinion.

Described as:

‘Fermented soy product, mango with added calcium and vitamins’.

Peeling back the lid reveals a thick and creamy looking yogurt with decent sized chunks of mango and a lovely sweet mango aroma.

Wow, if you like mango yogurt, I’m sure you’ll love this. The yogurt is so creamy and smooth with a rich mango flavour. But the amazing thing was I really couldn’t tell this was soy. To me it tastes just like regular dairy yogurt.

It’s so nice to find a yogurt that doesn’t have loads of added sugar and hasn’t had to resort to using sweeteners to make it sweet tasting. The mango does a perfectly good job of doing that.

It's also been fortified with calcium to provide similar levels to dairy yogurt and added vitamin D which works with calcium. Plus it contains live good bacteria which is beneficial for gut health and immunity.

This is one of my favourites from Alpro now and definitely one I’ll be purchasing again.

Found in Tesco, Sainsburys, Waitrose and Ocado online.
