Brits Are Obsessed With Social Media Food Pics

broccoli and radish salad According to results just released from a study by Lurpak, Brits spend a whole lot more time reading, watching, browsing, posting, looking and searching on social media for photos photos of food instead of actually cooking.

Rather than cooking for the enjoyment of it, a fifth of adults admit to regularly making a nice looking meal with the sole purpose of posting it on sites such as Instagram, Facebook or Pinterest.

Alpro Cashew Original Dairy Free Nut Milk

Alpro Cashew Nut Milk cartonExcuse the pun, but I have to say it - I’ve gone nuts for nut milk, in particular, cashew nut milk. After enjoying the taste of PLENISH Cashew Nut Milk, I trawled the online supermarkets looking for other brands. And amazingly, just new in, is another offering from Alpro, who must be aiming to corner every variety in the nut milk market!

Alpro Cashew Original 'nut milk' is available in the chiller fridges and has only 23 calories per 100ml.

Organix PUNK’D Snack Bars Review

organix punkd oaty bars strawberry and vanillaIf you’re not really into the craze of snack bars made with squashed dates, you may be interested in these bars from Organix. They're much more like a flapjack, something you really should avoid if trying to lose weight!

These oaty snacks bars go by the same ‘PUNK’d’, and they come in two varieties: Strawberry & Vanilla or Cocoa & Orange. They’re totally organic and have just 93 calories per bar.

Plenish Organic Cashew Milk Review

I've finally found an alternative to dairy milk which gives my favourite Alpro Soya Light a run for its money. This is a cashew nut milk from Plenish, certified by the Soil Association as Organic.

Since purchasing some of these new age cookery books from the likes of Deliciously Ella and the Hemsley sisters, I’ve been exploring further uses for nuts. One includes making cashew nut crème which is incredibly lovely.

As cashew nut cream is so nice, I thought I’d give this cashew nut milk from Plenish a try. Although expensive, it was on offer this particular day, knocked down from its usual £3.49 (ouch) to a slightly more reasonable £2.89. I was particularly happy to see so few ingredients, just nuts, water and salt. And it has just 34 calories per 100ml.

Alpro Soya Milk for Professionals Review

alpro professional soya milkWith the increasing interest in alternative milks, Alpro have been expanding their range of dairy free alternatives. Alpro Soya for Professionals is an alternative option to their Soya Original which has been formulated for use in coffee.

I had no idea there was such a thing until I spotted this in my local Costcutter and couldn’t resist buying it. I may not be a ‘professional’ when it comes to coffee making, but I do appreciate a decent head of foam on my cappuccinos!
