This week’s new surprise was the Coconut Crumble Cake with a mango, passionfruit and lime coulis on the side. And the calories? A mere 115.
New Graze Choices
In addition to the new range of snacks offered by Graze, they now allow you to choose different types of nibble boxes. There is the ‘Kids Goodybox’ which includes snacks for children aged 3 and up. There’s also the Graze Breakfast variety box.
You can also choose a particular nutrition plan whereby your snack box will contain snacks according to the type you’ve chosen.
Choices are:
The Lightbox (the lowest calorie snacks, all have 50-100 calories);
The Boostbox (the most nutrient dense snacks);
The Sustainbox (the most substantial snacks, with protein and fibre);
and the Sugarcount box (Graze’s lowest sugar snacks).
Their very latest section (at the time of writing), is the ‘dietary preferences’ areas. This allows you to ‘Bin all’ groups of snacks that you don’t want.
You can delete any or all of the following groups: Olives; Spicy Food; Requires a microwave; Unsuitable for vegetarians; Unsuitable for Vegans; Contains nuts; Contains gluten; contains dairy. This means all snacks you receive won’t contain any of the groups that you’ve binned.
Anyway, onto this weeks review, the Coconut Crumble Cake.
How I adore coconut. If I was trapped on a dessert Island, I’m sure I could happily survive on coconuts for a while. But, of course, coconut is very calorific, so I was delighted to see my coconut crumble cake only had 115 calories.
The cake is beautifully soft underneath with a slightly crunchy topping. It has a mild coconut taste and a crunchy texture from the desiccated coconut in the ingredients.
The puree is exceptionally sweet and quite strong. It’s quite delicious and very tropical tasting. But I found that when I dipped pieces of cake into it, the coconut flavour was completely lost, overpowered by the strength of the puree.
So I ate most of the cake on its own just so I could taste the coconut. I saved the puree to mix with a banana later on.
I give this a rating of LOVE because the coconut cake was gorgeous and it’s something I never normally get to eat.
