Reduced Fat Cumberland Sausages - Light Choices

Tesco Light Choices have a fantastic range of food with reduced levels of fat, salt, sugar and calories. This makes them a good choice for those on weight loss diets or just trying to cut down on unhealthy levels of fat, salt or sugar.

One of the more recent arrivals are Tesco Light Choices, reduced fat Cumberland Sausages with 75% less fat Tesco’s Butcher’s Choice Cumberland sausages.

These are good sized sausages, nice and meaty, though pork only accounts for 67% of the ingredients. The rest is made up from rusk, water, wheat starch and spices.

One sausage has 72.5 calories with the recommended serving size being two sausages per person.

They have a good flavour, quite spicy, so not ideal for those who prefer a plainer sausage! It’s best to cook them under the grill to prevent the need for adding any extra oil while cooking. Because they have only 4.4% fat content, they would need a spray of oil before frying as they release virtually none of their own.

These sausages aren’t linked and they can be frozen. Packs weigh 454g and contain 8 sausages.

Available in Tesco stores.
