According to the pack, eating two slices provides 35% of your daily wholegrain needs. This is based on the 2010 US Dietary Guidelines which recommend we eat 48g of whole grains per day.
If you buy it while it’s nice and fresh it’s lovely when ‘thinly’ spread with some reduced fat butter. But it’s even better when toasted, as the dried fruit flavours somehow give off a richer taste. Oh, and there’s the added deliciousness of the melted butter - not too much though! Watch out if you’re using a regular toaster as the added fruit makes the slices get much hotter and toast faster.
