Graze Box Review: My Thai Rice Crackers

Graze Box Delivery Date: 25 May 2012

As Friday is my preferred Graze box delivery date, I receive an email from Graze on the Thursday, inviting me to take a sneak preview into my Graze box.

In the early days I didn't do this as I enjoyed the surprise element. But now I usually take a peak to see if there's anything new. This week's email however, sent me into a mad panic.

The subject heading 'Your card has been declined' sent my mind spinning off in all sorts of directions. ‘Has my card been stolen? Am I a victim of identity theft? Or is my financial situation much worse than I feared?

Opening the email wasn’t quite as bad as I was expecting. According to Graze, they’d tried to take my payment for the Graze box due on Friday, but the transaction was declined so they were unable to send this week’s box.

Fortunately, as soon as I read the message I knew what it was. My card had simply expired and I hadn’t updated it with the new one. This was easily fixed in a matter of moments. Unfortunately it was too late for my Graze box and I’d missed the post. Friday just wasn’t the same. I hadn’t realised quite how used I’d become to receiving my weekly Graze box.

So, with nothing to report for last week, it’s onto week 26, delivery for 25th May. Inside were two of my favourites ‘Perfect Seeded Granola’ reviewed in week 9, Love Mix and Green Olives with Chilli and Garlic both reviewed in weeks 10-11.

I was delighted to find the untried snack was one of Graze’s new range of Dips & Dippers. There are four new dips to try and I received My Thai.

My Thai

Graze snack My ThaiMy Thai dip is a small punnet split into two sections. The larger section contains some delicious baked soy bites while the small section is filled with sweet chilli sauce. I love sweet chilli sauce and put it on loads of food, so I was looking forward to this.

The baked soy bites are also found in another Graze snack called Peking Dynasty, reviewed in Week 4. These crunchy little bites are made with rice and tapioca and flavoured with soy sauce and paprika. They’re delicious eaten on their own but go perfectly with the sauce.

The sweet chilli sauce is just tangy enough to set your taste buds tingling but certainly not what you’d call hot. There’s no great urgency to have a cold drink to hand. They have a shelf life of one week. This snack has been labelled as ‘Extra light’ as they have just 85 calories. What more could you ask from a snack? I absolutely love this one so of course it get a rating of LOVE.

Calories for the punnet: 85.
