However, back in the UK, all that seemed to be available were rice cakes, which aren’t the same thing at all. I gave up searching in the end.
Then a few weeks ago, I decided to try again and found some in Waitrose. These rice crackers are called Sakata - 'tasty usu-yaki rice crackers …born in Sakata, Japan.'
They’re available in four flavours: Original, Classic Cheddar, Sour Cream and Chives and Sizzling Barbeque. I bought the Sour Cream and Chives and they’re were just as I remembered them. Light and crispy with lots of seasoning. And best of all, each cracker has just 8 calories.

You can find them in the ‘Free from’ aisle in Waitrose as well as Ocado online. And some Sainsbury's stores stock them in the ‘savoury biscuits’ aisle.
Nutrition Information: per 25g (1 row of crackers): 103 calories, 1.8g protein, 20g carbohydrates, 0.8g sugars, 1.8g fat, 0.2g saturates, 0.2g fibre, 0.39g salt.
