Mini Jaffa Cakes, Sainsbury's NEW

Jaffa Cakes, those chocolate topped sponges with the orangey filling, look more like a biscuit than a cake. But, cakes they are. And for a cake, they’re not too bad an option for calorie counters.

An average Jaffa cake has around 45 calories and you can buy Mini Jaffa cakes from McVities which have just 24 calories each.

But here’s a new mini jaffa cake from Sainsbury’s which has 21 calories. These mini sponge cakes have an orange fruit filling (made with real orange juice) and are half coated with dark chocolate.

Each 125g pack contains 22 jaffa cakes and their size is a tiny 3.5cm across the centre.

Lots of manufacturers are catching on to the ‘mini’ products idea. This is great if you're watching your weight because it gives you the chance of eating small tasters of higher calorie treats without consuming as many calories.

You can find mini Jaffa Cakes in branches of Sainsbury’s stores.

Nutrition Information per mini Jaffa Cake: 21 calories, 0.7g fat, 0.4g saturates, 2.8g sugars, trace salt. Suitable for vegetarians.
