Compal Essential Fruit Shots: PLUM - NEW

Compal Essential Fruit Shots come from Portugal. They’re similar to a small pot of fruit puree only a bit thinner in consistency, like a smoothie so you can drink them. The range includes – mango, strawberry, peach, pear, pineapple, apple, kiwi and plum.

Up until now I’ve only been able to find the Apple, Pear, Mango and Strawberry in the UK. However, just last week I noticed a new variety – Plum (uma ameixa). Like the others, it’s packed in a trio of 110ml pots with each Plum shot equivalent to one plum.

If you want all the goodness and taste of a plum (rich in vitamins, potassium and fibre) without dealing with dribbling plum juice or a bitter skin, drinking a Plum Shot is a convenient alternative. They're especially good for children who don't like eating fruit.

They have to be stored in the fridge. However, they’re ideal for putting into lunchboxes or taking out with you as they won’t get bruised or squashed like fruit can. They’re also a good choice for those who can’t easily bite into hard fruits, for example if you have braces on your teeth.

The ingredients for the Plum shot are: Plum pulp (52%), Apple pulp (17%), water, fruit extracts and natural flavours. All fruit pots contribute to one of your 5-a-day.

You can find Compal Essential Fruit Shots in Waitrose supermarkets.
