Kit Kat Chunky Facebook Winner

Blink and you'd have missed them! Kit Kat, one of the most popular chocolate snacks, brought out (for a limited time only) four new varieties – White Choc, Orange, Double Choc and Peanut Butter.

These are in addition to the Original Milk chocolate and the Caramel Chunky Kit Kat. The peanut butter variety has been around before, but I think they were a limited edition. Hopefully it’ll be back to stay.

Nestle ran a competition on Facebook throughout January and February asking members to vote for their favourite (original and caramel not included). Judging by the comments, it looked like Peanut Butter would be the winner.

I’m not sure if the winning flavour gets to stay in production while the losers are relegated into the archives of Kit Kat history. But whatever happens, it’s been a pleasure trying them out. And the winner in my household was… peanut.

All the chunky bars have a similar number of calories varying between 247 to 261 calories per bar. The Double Choc and Peanut varieties have an extra layer of flavouring just underneath the top layer of chocolate while the Orange and the White version have the flavouring in the chocolate itself. If you’re watching the calories, you could break off one third for around 85 calories.

The results of the Kit Kat Facebook voting competition were as follows:

Kit Chunky Entrants
Percent of Vote

1st Place
Kit Kat Chunky Peanut
2nd Place
Kit Kat Chunky White Choc
3rd Place
Kit Kat Chunky Orange
4th Place
Kit Kat Chunky Double Choc

According to my local newsagents, Kit Kat chunky should be back in stores in April. The Original and Caramel varieties are still available.
