Weight Watchers Quiches

Quiche Lorraine, or bacon and egg pie, is never going to be a low calorie food, mainly due to its pastry content. If you like quiche, but want to keep the calories down, it’s best to either eat smaller portions of regular quiche or look for lower calorie options.

Weight Watchers have a choice of quiches which have a lower fat content than many regular quiches and this brings the calories down a bit.

Traditional style quiches with the filling encased in a pastry crust and base include: Weight Watchers Quiche Lorraine (165g) and Weight Watchers Bacon and Leek quiche (165). (Now discontinued (Note added Oct. 2012)).

The ‘crustless’ quiches are naturally lower in calories without that extra pastry. These have a light shortcrust base and sit inside a fluted paper case instead of a foil case.

Varieties include: Weight Watchers Mediterranean Vegetable Quiche (165g), Weight Watchers Crustless Cheese & Onion Quiche (160g), Weight Watchers Crustless Broccoli and Cheese Quiche (160g).
  • Crustless Bacon & Leek: 257calories, 7 ProPoints,
  • Crustless Mediterranean Vegetable: 246 calories, 7 ProPoints
  • Crustless Cheese & Onion: 267 calories, 7 ProPoints
  • Crustless Broccoli & Cheese: 283 calories, 8 ProPoints.
Each of these quiches are only 160g or 165g so aren't big enough for a whole family. However, they are quite large for one serving and when accompanied by some fresh vegetables or salad, they make a decent sized lunch for two people. A standard serving size for quiche is around one quarter of a regular 400g quiche, which means around 100g is a suitable serving size for quiche.

Bacon & Leek Quiche (With crust - now discontinued)

You can find Weight Watchers Quiches in larger supermarkets in the chiller section, but they are freezable.
