Mini cereal boxes don’t always contain the healthiest of breakfast choices and all that extra packaging isn’t great for the environment.

But one advantage they do have over large boxes of cereal, is the fact that they provide you with a single portion. And this is something that's easy to lose sight of when pouring cereal from a large box.

More often than not, most of us pour out way too much cereal into our bowls, meaning we’re likely to be underestimating how many calories we’re actually eating.

Even though mini boxes of cereals are generally aimed at children, it can be a good idea to buy them just to give yourself an idea of how small a portion really is.

Kellogg’s have the most well known multi-packs of cereals, which usually consist of Rice Krispies, Corn Flakes, Coco Pops or Frosties with variations on the others. Nestle also sell their own brand mini boxes as do Tesco, Sainsbury and Asda. Morrisons sell individual mini boxes of cereal including All Bran and Weetabix.
