Quark

If you’re using cream cheese in a recipe, it can really notch up the calorie count.

100g of regular cream cheese has around 245 calories. Switching to a light version could halve this amount. However, if you use Quark, you can halve it again. 100g of Quark has around 69 calories, making a huge calorie saving in your recipe.

Golden Acre Quark
It’s not the tastiest of products when eaten on its own, such as spreading onto a crispbread. However, it comes into its own when mixed with other ingredients. Its smooth and mild consistency makes it perfect for using in a dip, a cheesecake and many other sweet or savoury dishes.

Most larger supermarkets have their own brands of Quark all with a similar nutritional content. The details here are for Quark by Golden Acre which can be found in larger supermarkets.

Nutritional Information: Per 100g: Golden Acre - 69 calories, 12.0g protein, 4.1g carbohydrates, 0.2g fat, salt 0g. Meadow Churn has 73 cals oer 100g.
