Blue Diamond Almond Breeze Vanilla Milk Review

blue diamond almond breeze vanilla milkBack in 2012 I wrote about Alpro’s Soya Vanilla Light. Sometime between then and now, it’s disappeared from supermarket shelves. For reasons unknown to me, Alpro seem to have discontinued this product. It’s such a shame because it had a lovely taste.

However, I recently discovered a vanilla flavour almond milk from Blue Diamond. Since it’s not overloaded with calories (35 per 100ml), I decided to try it out.

Blue Diamond Almond Breeze brand is now a familiar sight amongst the alternative milks range. Their range of almond milks are made from California almonds and contain all natural ingredients. This milk is described as a dairy free milk alternative.

I’ve been using Blue Diamond’s Almond Breeze almond milk in my recipes a bit more now, especially when making smoothies and ice lollies.

Almond Breeze Vanilla Flavour is sweetened with raw cane sugar and flavoured with natural vanilla.

The almond taste is predominant, but the vanilla is strong enough not to be completely overwhelmed by almond. However, it is very sweet (due to the added sugar) so if you prefer unsweetened, this isn't for you. Because I have such a sweet tooth, I can quite happily drink this on its own.

I haven’t tried it in tea or coffee, but I have made some very tasty vanilla matcha lattes with it. Unfortunately it doesn’t froth up well, but I’ve found that to be the case with most of the almond milks I’ve tried. It’s lovely in smoothies, and works well with berries and banana.
