Pitta breads make a great alternative to sandwiches. You simply cut them open and stuff them with your favourite fillings. However, they’re not always the easiest of things to open. Often, they stick together and when you try and split them apart, they end up tearing.
To make life easier, Kingsmill have come up with a solution to this problem with their new 50/50 Pockets. The 50/50 part relates to the fact that they’re made with 50% wholemeal flour, giving them a higher fibre content than many other pitta breads.
The pockets are regular pitta breads pre-sliced in half. They pop open completely without sticking together at all. Each pocket is half a complete pitta so two pockets are equal to one whole pitta bread.
Each 50/50 Pocket has 110 calories and provides 25% of your daily wholegrain needs (based on 2010 US dietary guidelines of 48g a day).
You can find Kingsmill 50/50 Pockets in the bread section of many major supermarkets.
