I picked these up at the local newsagents and checked out the calorie count while waiting to pay for my newspaper. Being pleasantly surprised to see they had just 38 calories each, I took them home for the family to try out.
McVitie’s fruit shortcake biscuits are a combination of light and crunchy shortcake, mixed with currants and a sprinkling of sugar on top. As far as shortcake biscuits go, they’re quite thin but this keeps the calories down. They have a lovely taste and the currants don’t overpower the shortcake.
There are no hydrogenated vegetable oils, artificial colours or flavours and they’re widely available in many stores.
