Premium Chopped Tomatoes – Sainsbury’s

Chopped tomatoes are so versatile. You can add them to soups and sauces and all manner of recipes. Plus tomatoes are also known as a ‘superfood’, with more health giving properties than virtually every other food.

Tomatoes are a good source of lycopene, a potent antioxidant, which is absorbed by the body even better when they’re in cooked form. And beneficially for dieters, they’re incredibly low in calories so you can eat loads of them without worrying about gaining weight.

These chopped tomatoes from Sainsbury’s can be purchased as part of a multipack of 4 x 390g cartons. Each 390g carton has 72 calories, that’s just 18 calories per 100g.

Although the carton is recyclable, it can't be microwaved so you need to empty the tomatoes into a suitable container to heat them up.

Nutritional Information: Per 100g: 18 calories, 1g protein, 3g carbohydrates, 2.8g sugar, 0.1g fat, trace saturates, 0.8g fibre, trace salt.
