Unsweetened Soya Milk (Fresh) - Low Calorie

Choosing soya milk as an alternative to regular cows milk can be a great way to save on extra calories, especially if you drink lots of milk during the day. True, it can take a little getting used to, but if you're trying to make the switch, it's often easier substituting soya milk in tea and coffee first to get used to the taste.

The taste and calorie count in soya milks can vary enormously and most people eventually find a brand they prefer then stick to it. Alpro are probably the largest name in Soya milk production and they do produce soya milks with a lovely taste.

Among the unsweetened, fresh soya milks, those with the lowest calories actually taste remarkably similar. These can be found in Sainsburys, Tesco and Morrisons with their own brand soya, plus Alpro's Unsweetened chilled soya milk is usually found alongside these in each store.

Nutritional content is very similar for all brands and they only have 20 - 22 calories per 100ml.

Here is the nutritional content for Sainsbury's unsweetened soya milk.

Nutritional Information: Per 100ml: 20 calories, 2.0g protein, 1.2g fat, 0.13 salt g. Half pint/284ml equals 2 Weight Watchers ProPoints.
